911 Systems Fail After Ransomware Attack

Can you imagine writing down 911 calls with a pen a paper…

That’s exactly what the Palm Beach community had to do after ransomware struck their systems for the second time in two weeks.  Each call had to be documented with pen and paper, although according to CBS 12,  the public’s safety was never in danger.

The municipality did not pay the hackers for the decryption keys, and are working diligently to create stronger systems to prevent this from occurring again.
