Are My Devices Actually Scanning?

One of the most common questions our support team receives is: “How do I know if my devices are actively being scanned?”

It’s a great question—you want peace of mind that your protection is working in the background. Here are two simple ways to verify your scans are running smoothly.

Method 1: Email Notifications

The easiest way to stay in the loop is to set up automatic email confirmations. You won’t have to log in to check; we’ll come to you.

How to set it up:

  1. Go to your Scan Schedules.
  2. Edit an existing schedule in the Email Options section.
  3. Select either Individual Emails (one per device) or a Summary Email (one digest for all).
  4. Enter the email address where you want the results sent.

Method 2: Management Console

If you prefer to dig into the details yourself, you can check the specific history for any individual device right from the portal.

How to check manually:

  1. Log in to your PC Matic Management Console at portal.pcpitstop.com.
  2. From the Devices menu, click on the specific Device Name.
  3. Look at the top of the device’s options menu for the Scan History listing.

What to look for:

  • You can view the past 50 scans for that device.
  • Success Indicators: A successful scan will display the scan type as “Scheduled Scan and Clean,” and the IP Address will be visible.
