Red Deer College is now the second reported ransomware attack on a Canadian college in the last 30 days.  The first attack this year occurred in late May, where ransomware held the University of Calgary hostage.  They struggled to regain access to their systems and ended up paying the ransom of $20,000 CAN.  As of earlier this month, the school was still struggling to get their systems back to normal, even with the encryption keys provided by the hackers.  To read more about the University of Calgary ransomware hit, you may click here.
