SwiftKey App Leaks Personal Information

SwiftKey, the handy app that helps increase typing efficiency on mobile devices has leaked users’ personal information…

The leak was discovered by a SwiftKey user who reported receiving an email from a complete stranger asking if they have changed mobile devices lately.  The stranger notified the individual, that they started to type something and found an email address was automatically suggested.  They also went through the alphabet and found personal information came up with different letters that were typed.  The stranger also disclosed a phone number was populated when they entered the number zero.

Luckily the stranger notified the individual immediately.  The Telegraph reported SwiftKey has been working to address the issue.  They reported disabling their cloud syncing services, and reported that application is safe to be used in the mean time while they address the issue.  Unfortunately, it is unknown how long this has been an issue.
