Our Favorite Tips: How to capture clear & super-sized web images

Tip submitted by EssexBiker

If you’ve ever saved an image from the internet and tried to enlarge it with your photo editing software, you will probably have ended up with a very pixelated/fuzzy image. But if you print it to .xps first and then use the slider at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, Windows will display a beautifully clear super-sized image, which you can then take a screen print of using either Print Screen or Window’s built in Snipping Tool! Window’s Snipping Tool can be found at C:\Windows\system32\SnippingTool.exe

To print to the XPS Document Writer

1. Open the document or file that you want to print to .xps format, and then click Print. In most programs, the print option is available from the File menu.

2. In the Print dialog box, select Microsoft XPS Document Writer.

3. To view the document using the XPS viewer after you print it, click Preferences, click the XPS Documents tab, and then make sure that the Automatically open XPS documents using the XPS viewer check box is selected.

4. Print the document or file.

5. When prompted, enter a file name and browse to the location where you want to save the .xps file. Windows will save .xps files in your Documents folder by default.–
