Oregon Church Hit With Ransomware

Just when you thought ransomware targets couldn’t get any worse…

Community of Christ Church, in Hillsboro, Oregon was the latest victim of ransomware.  According to KATU News, the church found the ransomware when trying to access a simple PowerPoint.  Many of the church’s files were encrypted, which led to them paying the $570 ransom to obtain the encryption key.  So far, the key has been working, yet it was reported they continue to find more and more files that need to be decrypted.
