Another Healthcare Facility Infected with Ransomware

Within the last week, six different medical facilities confirmed suffering from recent ransomware attacks. Now another attack has been made public and minimal details are being shared.

Marin Community Clinics headquartered in Novato, California recently confirmed they have fallen victim to a ransomware attack. The exact ransomware variant has not been confirmed. However, clinic officials did report they paid an undisclosed ransom demand in hopes to restore their networks faster.

The attack occurred on June 19, 2019. As of today, their networks are still down while they attempt to restore patient files. For the past several days, the clinic has been “offline”, leaving medical professionals to operate solely with pen and paper.

Officials do not believe any patient data has been compromised.
