The Center of Orthopedic Specialists, a California medical facility, suffered a ransomware infection in February of 2018.  Now months later, the medical facility is informing patients of a potential security breach as a result of the ransomware infection.  Approximately 85,000 patient files may have been compromised, potentially releasing information including:

  • Social security numbers
  • Medical diagnosis
  • Insurance information
  • Demographic data

The medical facility is offering potentially impacted patients with two free years of credit reporting services, and protection from a $1 million insurance policy.
