7/2/2009 10:15:19 PM haven't had a whole lot of trouble with it really until today. I heard about some "pirate" site, and I went to it, and a popup came up that looked like a warning box that I will get when I shut the computer down. I didn't look at it really, I am just used to clicking "OK", and since I did that, I have had porno.com and viagra.com and adult.com popping up constantly, and some "antivirus system pro" somehow is on my computer, and I can't get it off. I am getting warnings of viruses and spyware from that program constantly, and it just says I need to buy their software.

When I bring up the task manager there does seem to be a larger number of processes running than I remember from times past, typically 50 to 54.

12/26/2011 12:12:15 AM I have been very satisfied with this computer most of it's life. However, it is getting older now and am having symptoms I don't know how to correct. it freezes someetimes, get high memory usage messages even though may only be usig IE, videos recently started playing skippy, slow to load anything. Took as much out of startup as I dared. Frequently cean. I thik there is a technical thing wrong, like once it did this before and the computer network guy at worked fixed and it worked great (said it had reverted to a prior version of windows). I don't work there anymore so don't have access to him. I had almost filled up hard drive so uninstalled some programs, moved media to an external hard drive and now still only have 26^free space, much better. But videos were playing ok before I did all this cleanup. I get "out of memory" too often now.I need to get a little more time use out of this computer.

Analysis of the Application and System Event Logs discloses no clues as to the source of the fault. Since the laptop is vulnerable to shut down under either OS, a hardware failure is suggested. However, the BIOS diagnostics report no problems with CPU, hard drives, or RAM.

And if PC Matic and / or ARO are correct in their diagnoses, then why isn't the Pitstop Optimizer I paid $30 for doing it's job? Thanks for the clarification. [email protected]
