Might upgrade to Win 7, but since it's out of warranty, I'm also seriously considering installing Linux, which I use on my desktop. Biggest problems are with HP/Compaq specific utilitites, which often go out to lunch, and troubleshooting them is a real pain. (I'm at a relative's house, which is why I don't know connection speed. I will eventually re-run at home.)

9/21/2009 1:06:37 PM i bought this laptop in march of 2009. in late june/early july the hard drive failed. since it was still under a manufacturers warranty, i had it replaced. customer service was very poor, however the issue was eventually resolved. other than that, i have a fair level of satisfation with this pc.

I get a message "not enough memory" It has 6 GB and Task Manager is reporting that I'm only using in the high 30 to low 40% of memory. 9/1/2011 8:04:45 PM I believed that this pc had been compromized prior to my purchase. I began using this pc about March 2011, then again on or about July 2011. When this pc works, my other desk top will not connect to the internet. I need both my computors to function properly. I believe that this Vista is as old as 2006.

Also, twice I have had my computer tell me I have a virus and then I shut it down, restart it and it's gone, then I scan with McAfee Security and it says there wasn't a virus. So I don't know what's wrong with it.
