12/6/2009 12:52:43 PM I love this comuter. It has met all my needs. It was running slow and caught a virus but I took it in and had the virus removed and all unused programs removed. With additional memory added, this Dell Inspiron E1705 is very fast again and suits my needs perfectly!

12/11/2015 3:06:32 PM This is an old Dell Inspiron E1705 I purchased through the Army/Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) via a link to Dell. Though it is old and hevy, it still works very well and now with PCMatic I can use it with great security. I am not sure when I purchased this laptop.

8/30/2010 8:35:08 AM NOTE for connection speed: I have Wi Fi antenna on my room that's aimed at a cell tower but it is NOT a cellular telephone service. The up and down speed is 2000 kilobits/sec. Now to the additional comments: The computer is over 4 yrs. old and is starting to have glitches that I do not know how to fix. Examples: (1) When I first turn it on, a black screen (white letters) comes up to tell me that it does not recognize my AC power adapter but I can hit F1 to continue -- Well, the AC power adapter is working just fine (i.e., I'm not running down the battery and the battery charges up after I've used it on battery power. (2) At every boot, I get an error message saying that my Logitech cordless mouse did not install but it works just great. (3) When I plug a miniature stereo jack into the mic/line in socket, the software no longer asks me what level signal it is -- i.e., microphone or line in. Things like that.

This computer is was purchased in September 2006 and has had one bad virus but it serves my purposes. However, it is very slow when surfer the net and uploading web pages from frequently used sites. Lately, it has been freezing up.

I have had nothing but problems with them since the day purchased my computers. My husband ordered a bunch of extras for photography, burning CDs and DVD and plying movies thay said all the backup discs were there and needless to say they were not an we got screwed.
