I change the disk from read to other than read but it always reverts back to read only. The disks are clearly RW disks though but won't function as one. My computer is unusually slow even though I've defragged it and used System Mechanic to clean it every night.

9/14/2013 8:37:31 AM The computer crashed several years ago but Dell technician guided me through the RESTORE oricess. However, since then I have had no Microsoft updates. I don't know what to do about this problem. When I connect to the Windows Internext Explorer browser, the computer is very very slow so I use Google Chrome. Any suggestions. Also, a window showed "incompatible software" when the Super Shield screen came on.

2/5/2013 5:19:10 PM The computer has been running slow lately and we have been receiving Windows error messages whenever it we would start it up and when you would enter Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. In order to get out of it, you would have to hit cancel four times. After the initial scan with PC Matic, we noticed that it is still there so we are hoping that there is a way that it can be fixed.

1/9/2010 10:23:43 PM computer was giving a memory error E:x00000008 (?) when using internet explorer and finally shut down completely and could only be restarted in safe mode. Sent to compuware/tigerdirect service to repair and have only had the computer back 30 days or so and the computer is starting to run extremely slow, locks up at times, sometimes screen goes black and will not shut down. I have to hold the start button in for 10 - 15 seconds just to get the computer to shut down. Then when the computer is turned on it takes at least 8 mins or more for everything to come up and we have only used 10% of the hard drive space. Not sure what is going on and don't want to send it back to compuware/tigerdirect. Also, I'm a ca employee and know that you can help.

Each time we start it, it runs slow for a long time then seems to get faster if we let it stay on for a long while. (purchase date-below-is a guess)
