How do I allow a program that is being blocked by PC Matic SuperShield?

These steps should only be followed by advanced users that are confident the program you are allowing is safe for your computer. If you need additional confirmation of a safe program, please click Contact Support in the sidebar to get help from our team.

The SuperShield icon may be hidden in your system tray. To show all of the icons; click the arrow to the left of the icons


To make sure the SuperShield icon is always displayed in the system tray:

Press and hold or right-click any empty space on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings. The taskbar is the bar at the bottom of your screen. Under Taskbar corner icons: Select On for any icons you want to see on the taskbar.




PC Matic SuperShield blocks all unknown software by default. This can sometimes result in a new program that is actually good being blocked from use. In order to allow that program, please follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the green SuperShield icon in the lower right corner of the Windows desktop screen by the time display.
  2. Select Protection Level.
  3. Hover over Block Notification Method and select Prompt for Override (Advanced).
  4. Now, open the program that was blocked again.
  5. Add the programs to your local allowlist by clicking on the red “Always Allow” button.
  6. Now that the program has been allowed, we need to return from advanced mode by reversing the steps above.
  7. Click on the green SuperShield icon again.
  8. Select Protection Level.
  9. Hover over Block Notification Method and select Display Only (Recommended).

If you do not see the SuperShield icon in your system tray, follow the steps below first.

  1. Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen and select Taskbar Settings.
  2. Expand the menu item called Taskbar Corner Overflow.
  3. Find PC Matic SuperShield in the list and switch the toggle to On.
