The Acer Aspire One weighs just over 2 pounds and is packed with a 160 GB hard drive and Windows XP operating system. It has 8.9-inch CrystalBrite WSVGA LED backlit display, integrated webcam, and Intel's Atom mobile processor. Other features include a 160 GB hard drive, a 6-cell battery for up to 5.5 hours of battery life, 1 GB of installed RAM (1.5 GB maximum), 54g Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g), multi-format memory card reader, and multiple USB ports.

7/9/2009 10:31:19 AM I love this little beast. It is outstanding value for the price. I bought it at Sam's Club for $296.87 plus tax (10% in Alabama) and have no regrets. It has cheerfully done everything I've asked it to do, and believe me, I asked a lot. I'm already running at least 40 programs regularly and have had no problems. It has not hung up on anything or any software. Highly recommended.

1/6/2011 11:48:04 AM Machine still has MS Office (trial account) that was updated on 11/28/10 causing loss of newly installed Corel Office program. Do not want to use MS Office but old mfg installed items slowing down machine and corrupted and made Corel Office inoperaperable sometime around 12/02/10. Sure would like to have my old Corel Office version 5.0.56 back up and operating as before MS update on 11/28/10.

6/9/2009 5:18:11 AM Something went wrong while running power on battery. The system rebooted without warning and prompted for an admin password to log in (bios). I hadn't had a the bios password protected prior to this. I haven't been able to fix it and Acer will charge an hourly or per-call cost for support.
