7/25/2010 5:24:21 AM K7N2 board with 2Gig Ram dual channel at a tiny 400 FSB has served me well and still runs most apps without problem. Gaming is a little disapointing these days on AGP ATI Radien1650 card. All in all very stable old system for anyone and It will stay as a machine for kids for a few more years.

9/12/2009 11:56:48 PM The disk image on this thing goes back to 1970 through several mainframes and IBM PC s/n 101875. It has about half a million files on it. They range from X window development to literary criticism. The case was chipped from stone in 1995. Its most recent CPU is an AMD 2800+. The motherboard is new, its predecessor having succumbed to a mechanical intermittency. It runs XP Pro with stability. There are lots of things I don't know, but I do know when I'm happy.

Lately however it has been giving me a lot of errors, running very slow, and when I try to surf the web I get redirected constantley wich hints I have a virus, a hijacker. So I purchased CA 2010 and it isnt detecting anything. I keep getting script error messages and Rundll messages. I just want it fixed.

With the help of PC Pitstop, I've been able to keep it the top of it's game. To improve this computer, I'm going to have to build a new one since there isn't anything more I can do to upgrade it.

I'm doing my best to keep it running first rate ... need to bump the memory a notch too. But of the 5 computers I try my best to keep running, this one is always working ... sometimes barely and by the grace of God, but it has never let me down. Runs slow ... registry needs a massive cleaning ... some of the trash needs to be cleaned ... defrag for sure ... plus there must be a lot of gaps and all sorts of stuff to fix ... this puter is the oldest one I have but so far worth the money. It was an infomercial on TV of all places. Great computer for me though, since I don't mind having to get close and personal with it ... helps me to understand the things better.

Seems to work fine, but I've noticed that I Can't run video clips on Nascar.com, and when I go to a friend's Smugmug photo site, I can not view the pictures. I am suspecting that my Active X controls are not operating correctly, but I'm not good enough to know much about how to fix it.

I was also told the my download & upload rate arte excellent compared to the standard resisential speeds. I also conducted a speed test at the following website speakeasy.net which gave different results. Those results were as follows download speed 4.88 Mbps & upload 0.43Mbps.

While I would like it to be a bit faster, it does everything I ask it to and runs all programs, including games, very well. My only complaint now would be internet speed but as that is a relatively recent problem I think that has more to do with my provider/area than the computer.

When I go into my Task Manager, my system idle process is always above 90%, sometimes at 98-99%. My CPU usage often times goes to 100% on certain sites like ebay when I navigate around.

6/24/2011 1:46:40 PM It's an old Nforce 570 SLi board with boring AMD chipset and decent 800 MHz ram. Had a Asus GTS450 TOP edition card in it but 128 bit on a SLi v1.0 wasn't cutting it so put the PNY 8800GTS back in there for improved throughput. OC'd just about everything to stability limits.

I've removed that and come back to CA, but am still having lock-ups and performance issues. There is also an erratic issue with one of my 3D games that will sometimes give me a BLACK screen and completely locks up the system. The only way I can recover from it is to do a hard boot.

4/20/2010 1:13:27 AM It was running slow before AND after the initial installation of PC Tune-Up 2.0 AND CA internet Secutiry Suite Plus 2010. Iyogi technicians worked on it TWICE. The first time resulted in increasingly slow running followed by a complete lock-up. The second time resulted in an inabiliity to log online any way, eitgher through Internet Explorer, MSM, Google, etc. The third time, a higher-level technician from Bomgar found and fixed tghe problem. I hope this computer stays problem-free.

9/24/2011 2:04:45 AM Computer shuts off randomly. Internet browsing is slow. Web based applications crawl at a slow speed. Just cleaned out my heatsink from all the dust that had accumulated, and now these problems suddenly presented themselves. Possible cpu issue like overheating/fan problem?
