Someone says you can make quick money online<\/em> just by doing simple tasks. All you have to do is \u201cboost\u201d products, \u201coptimize\u201d posts, or click links. They say you\u2019ll get paid right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sounds easy, right? Unfortunately, this is likely a task scam<\/strong> \u2014 also called a gamified job scam<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 and it\u2019s designed to take your money, not make you any.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How the Scam Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. The bait<\/strong> \u2013 A stranger reaches out offering online \u201cwork\u201d you can do from your phone or computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The fake earnings<\/strong> \u2013 You complete small tasks on a special app or platform, and it shows that you\u2019ve earned commissions. The numbers you see? Completely fake.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The trust trick<\/strong> \u2013 To make it seem real, they may send you a small payment, usually $5\u2013$20.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The trap<\/strong> \u2013 Next, they say you need to deposit your own money (often in cryptocurrency) to unlock more tasks or withdraw your \u201cearnings.\u201d But once you send money, it\u2019s gone \u2014 and you\u2019ll never see those fake earnings or your deposit again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
