Ransomware Attacks Cloud-Hosting Provider, Data Resolution<\/h3>\n

Data Resolution<\/a>, a business and government cloud-hosting provider has reported suffering a ransomware attack on December 24, 2018.\u00a0 Data Resolutions was hit with the same ransomware variant,\u00a0deemed Ryuk, as what took down the Tribune Publishing<\/a> over the weekend.\u00a0\u00a0In an effort\u00a0not to pay the ransom demands, the company is attempting to restore their systems through backup files.\u00a0 This is, however, taking a bit of time.\u00a0 Therefore, the company’s networks are still not fully operational.<\/p>\n

The San Juan Capistrano, California based company serves\u00a0approximately 30,000 businesses worldwide, offering various services from software hosting to business continuity systems.<\/p>\n

Although the organization reported feeling confident\u00a0the ransomware attack did not compromise data, Brian Krebs, from Krebs on Security, is less than convinced.\u00a0 He stated<\/a>,<\/p>\n

“I can\u2019t even see how they could say yet with confidence that data wasn\u2019t taken, when they\u2019re still focused on restoring service.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
