Last week, we reported<\/a> on Middleton School District, located in Connecticut becoming infected with ransomware.\u00a0 This led to only two of their six systems being partially operational.\u00a0 Now, a week later the Derby Police Department released they too have been a victim of ransomware<\/a>.\u00a0 Although, there is no evidence suggesting the two were related as neither ransomware variants were disclosed.\u00a0 It also remains unclear if either victim\u00a0paid the ransom demands.<\/p>\n At this time, Derby Police Department has reported their systems are back to fully operational.\u00a0 They also do not believe any information was breached due to the ransomware attack.<\/p>\n For a list of ransomware attacks that have already taken place in 2018, you may click here<\/a>.
