Cyber Criminals Target College in Ransomware Attack<\/h3>\n

On December 18, 2017 Dartmouth College, located in Hanover, New Hampshire, was the victim of a cyber attack.\u00a0 Officials noticed unauthorized activity, and determined there was a virus on their systems.\u00a0 It was determined the virus was designed to encrypt files.\u00a0 Although, the encryption was not able to execute due to safety measures the school has in place.\u00a0 The virus did impact 41 machines, and the remediation efforts needed to fix these devices is unclear.<\/p>\n
