Longs Peak Family Practice in Longmont, Colorado suffered a ransomware attack in early November.\u00a0 According to their public statement<\/a>, the facility did not pay the ransom.\u00a0 Instead they were able to remediate the encrypted files using backups.\u00a0 A few days after the ransomware attack, the IT team noticed unauthorized access to certain networks.<\/p>\n It is uncertain if this potential breach was related to the ransomware attack.\u00a0 The impacted files included patient identification information including – birth dates, social security number, names, addresses, phone number, insurance information, medical diagnosis, and more.<\/p>\n For anyone who may have been impacted by this breach, the Longs Peak Family Practice is offering a free year of credit monitoring services.\u00a0 They have also taken steps to enhance their IT systems in an attempt to avoid further cyber threats.<\/p>\n To see a full list of ransomware attacks that have taken place in 2017, you can click here<\/a>.
