The Latest Windows Exploit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Bashware Lets Malware Bypass Most Security Programs<\/h3>\n<p>A new exploit has been discovered, allowing hackers to install malware on Windows 10 systems without detection of most anti-virus programs. \u00a0The exploit, deemed Bashware, is found within the newly added Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). \u00a0Kim Komando <a href=\"https:\/\/www.komando.com\/happening-now\/419480\/huge-windows-10-flaw-lets-malware-bypass-security-software\">reported<\/a>, WSL was created to add Linux Shell support to Windows 10. \u00a0However, when this addition was implemented, a major security gap was left open. \u00a0The security exploit was founded by two security researchers,\u00a0Gal Elbaz and Dvir Atlas.<\/p>\n<p>Typically the WSL requires manual activation. \u00a0Although, through this exploit, hackers are able to automatically turn on the feature to use the exploit to install malware.<\/p>\n<p>To avoid falling victim to this latest malware threat, PC Matic encourages users to do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Be hyper-vigilant when it comes to opening emails<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t click on something unless you are certain it is legitimate<\/li>\n<li>Keep your eyes open for malicious email attachments and\/or links<\/li>\n<li>Keep your operating system updated<\/li>\n<li>Update your security software<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Beyond the above steps, it is encouraged PC users upgrade their security solution to one that implements an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/whitelist\">application whitelisting technology<\/a>. \u00a0For instance, Bashware would not impact users of PC Matic, because when the malware attempts to execute &#8212;
