{"id":57614,"date":"2017-08-08T12:20:42","date_gmt":"2017-08-08T17:20:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/?p=57614"},"modified":"2017-08-08T12:20:42","modified_gmt":"2017-08-08T17:20:42","slug":"windows-10-tip-printing-pdf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/windows-10-tip-printing-pdf\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows 10 Tip &#8212; Converting Documents to PDF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prior to Windows 10, converting a document into a PDF was a much bigger task than necessary. \u00a0With the Windows 10 update, a PDF converter was included within the operating system. \u00a0Now, any Windows 10 user is able to convert documents with just a few simple clicks. \u00a0The how-to tutorial today will be using a Word document as the example; however, any program that includes a printing option will also be able to be converted.<\/p>\n<h4>Step-by-Step Guide: Converting Documents to a PDF<\/h4>\n<p>First, select the document, spreadsheet, etc. that needs to be converted. \u00a0From there, select &#8220;File&#8221; and then select &#8220;Print&#8221;, as seen here.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-57615 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/print.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1074\" height=\"573\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/print.png 1074w, https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/print-768x410.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1074px) 100vw, 1074px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After clicking &#8220;Print&#8221;, click on the down arrow to show the &#8220;Printer&#8221; options. \u00a0From there, select &#8220;Microsoft Print to PDF&#8221;. \u00a0Upon doing so, a PDF version of the document will be saved to the device.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-57616 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/print-pdf.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"570\" height=\"647\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Troubleshooting<\/h4>\n<p>If Microsoft Print to PDF is not an option, and the device is running Windows 10, it is possible the feature has been disabled. \u00a0To enable the feature, type &#8220;Windows Features&#8221; into the search bar by the Start menu. \u00a0Click on &#8220;Turn Windows features on or off&#8221;. \u00a0This will bring up this screen:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-57619 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/enabling-pdf.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"414\" height=\"362\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Confirm in this screen there is a check mark in the box next to &#8220;Microsoft Print to PDF&#8221;. \u00a0If there is not, place a check in the box, and restart your PC. \u00a0If there was already a check mark in the box, and still don&#8217;t have the feature when trying to print, try disabling and enabling the feature again. \u00a0Keep in mind, after disabling or enabling any new features, users must restart their devices.<\/p>\n<h5>Do you have any special requests for different tutorials?
