{"id":57124,"date":"2017-05-30T10:58:19","date_gmt":"2017-05-30T15:58:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/?p=57124"},"modified":"2017-05-30T10:58:19","modified_gmt":"2017-05-30T15:58:19","slug":"chipotle-reports-data-breach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/chipotle-reports-data-breach\/","title":{"rendered":"Chipotle Reports Data Breach Impacted Almost All Restaurants"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Burritos and Breaches<\/h4>\n<p>Popular restaurant, Chipotle, has been a recent victim of a data breach. \u00a0The restaurant reported almost all of their Chipotle locations were impacted, as well as their\u00a0Pizzeria Locale eateries. \u00a0Current reports are suggesting the breach was executed through the company&#8217;s point-of-sale (PoS) system. \u00a0The information exposed included credit card numbers, expiration dates and security codes.<\/p>\n<p>Chipotle has advised customers who used a credit or debit card to purchase meals between March 24th and April 18th, watch their statements closely. \u00a0If any unauthorized charges are present, notify the appropriate banking institution immediately.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Consumerist <a href=\"https:\/\/consumerist.com\/2017\/05\/30\/chipotle-confirms-data-breach-hit-most-restaurant-locations\/\">reports<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The company says it continues to work with cybersecurity firms to evaluate and enhance its security measure, while also supporting law enforcement\u2019s investigation into the breach.<\/p>\n<p>Customers who have questions regarding the breach can call Chipotle at 888-738-0534.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chipotle is far from the first restaurant chain to suffer a security breach. \u00a0In the last two years <a href=\"https:\/\/techtalk.pcpitstop.com\/2017\/02\/13\/security-breaches-restaurants\/\">major restaurant chains have been breached<\/a> including: Arby&#8217;s, CiCi&#8217;s Pizza, Noodles &amp;
