Tips You Must Know&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The kids are about done with their school year. \u00a0Is your computer ready?<\/h4>\n<p>Kids will soon be spending far more time at home than usual. \u00a0This means their screen time will likely skyrocket. \u00a0Is your computer secure?<\/p>\n<p>There are two major tips parents should not only be aware of, but also implement to keep their children and data safe.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep your PC secure by keeping your anti-virus updated. \u00a0We all know people can be click happy. \u00a0This is especially true for children. \u00a0They don&#8217;t know what to look for when it comes to cyber security threats. \u00a0They are primarily interested in just getting to the game or website they want to get to. \u00a0Keeping your anti-virus updated will assist to prevent unwarranted malware infections. \u00a0PC Matic recommends using an anti-virus solution that implements application whitelisting. \u00a0This will only allow for known trusted programs to run.<\/li>\n<li>Set parental controls. \u00a0There are multiple ways to do so. \u00a0First, you can c<a href=\"https:\/\/account.microsoft.com\/account\/ManageMyAccount?refd=www.bing.com&amp;destrt=FamilyLandingPage\">reate a specific user<\/a> for each child. \u00a0By doing so, you can limit their access to each other&#8217;s files or programs. \u00a0You can also edit or disable the microphone or camera settings for each child. \u00a0Another method for parents to help moderate their children&#8217;s computer use is to access Microsoft&#8217;s parental control features <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/08\/add-new-users-pc\/\">here<\/a>. \u00a0Within the control features, parents are able to moderate their children&#8217;s screen time, block certain websites, and even obtain computer use reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With summer right around the corner, it&#8217;s time to start prepping your computers now. \u00a0Keep your children safe and your\u00a0devices secure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The kids are about done with their school year. \u00a0Is your computer ready?
