Blasts Malware With Infected USB Sticks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>IBM Unknowingly Sends Malware Infected USB Flash Drives<\/h4>\n<p>IBM has released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hackread.com\/ibm-sent-off-usb-sticks-infected-malware\/\">statement <\/a>disclosing a number of infected USB sticks have been sent into the public. \u00a0The USB flash drives were shipped to include Storwize flash. \u00a0It is the Storwize flash that included the malicious code. \u00a0According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hackread.com\/ibm-sent-off-usb-sticks-infected-malware\/\">Hack Read<\/a>, the infected\u00a0models include drives that have part number 01AC585 and that were shipped with Storwize V3500, V3700, and V5000 Generation 1 storage systems.<\/p>\n<p>If you have received a flash drive that is infected, you should dispose of it immediately. \u00a0Although, some professionals disagree. \u00a0Saying it is not necessary to dispose of the USB sticks. \u00a0However, PC Matic strongly advises any potential victims to do so immediately. \u00a0If you have already used a malicious USB stick, and have concerns it may have infected your endpoint, it is advised users run a security scan immediately. \u00a0By doing so, you should be able to effectively remove any malware infections
