Webroot Fail This Year &#8212; and 2017 Isn&#8217;t Even Half Over&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Webroot Whoops&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p>Yesterday, major issues arose for the millions of users of Webroot. \u00a0The well-known anti-virus began classifying several different Windows files as general malware, leaving critical files quarantined. \u00a0Therefore, Windows was not able to fully function. \u00a0As if that wasn&#8217;t bad enough, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/webroot-antivirus-mistakenly-flags-windows-system-files-as-malware\/\">ZDNet reports<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Many independent tweets confirmed that several major websites, including <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/spock11710\/status\/856607183622090753\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bloomberg<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ashubert\/status\/856666637512040449\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a>, were also marked as phishing sites, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PepitoVFR\/status\/856668614627278848\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">preventing users<\/a> from accessing their pages.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Company\u00a0officials have acknowledged the issue and reported a fix is in the works now. \u00a0Unfortunately, a definitive timeline has not been provided.<\/p>\n<p>Tough day for Webroot. \u00a0Or should we say, tough year&#8230;<\/p>\n<h4>Not the First Time<\/h4>\n<p>In early February of this year, Webroot pushed an update which crippled some of their users&#8217; PCs. \u00a0The update reportedly impacted a minority of their user base. \u00a0Of those that were impacted, their PCs were not able to function due to the inability to boot-up. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2017\/02\/02\/webroot_snafu\/\">The Register<\/a> reported, there were workarounds to get the computers functioning. \u00a0Although, in order to do so,
