Keyboard Shortcuts Every Computer User Should Know<\/h4>\n

Some people love them, others maybe not so much.\u00a0 What exactly are we referencing?\u00a0 Keyboard shortcuts.\u00a0 Sometimes it may seem like it’s just as easy to use the mouse to highlight, copy and paste, etc.\u00a0 For some users, it may be.\u00a0 However, once you start using shortcuts, you won’t know what to do without them!<\/p>\n

Here are the top 15 keyboard shortcuts every PC user should know:<\/p>\n

  1. Shift+Arrows = Highlighting text.\u00a0 As you go through your document, you can select the text by holding down the Shift key and then using the arrows to go up, down, left or right.\u00a0 Once you have the text highlighted you can do the following:\n
      \n
    1. Ctrl+B = Bold<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Ctrl+I = Italicize <\/em><\/li>\n
    3. Delete key = Deleting highlighted text<\/li>\n
    4. Ctrl+X = Cut<\/li>\n
    5. Ctrl+C = Copy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    6. Ctrl+V = Paste.\u00a0 After you have copied or cut your text, you can paste it by pressing the Ctrl+V keys.<\/li>\n
    7. Ctrl+Z = Undo.\u00a0 As you work on a document, maybe you highlighted something and hit a key you didn’t mean to.\u00a0 Or you deleted something on accident.\u00a0 Hit Ctrl+Z and it will undo whatever changes you made.\u00a0 Major time saver!!<\/li>\n
    8. Ctrl+home = Beginning of page or document.\u00a0 This shortcut works on websites and documents.\u00a0 Want to go back to the beginning?\u00a0 Sure thing, Ctrl+home will take you there.<\/li>\n
    9. Ctrl+end = End of page or document.\u00a0 Similar to Ctrl+home, this shortcut works everywhere to take you to the end of the material.<\/li>\n
    10. Ctrl+F = Accesses “Find” tool.\u00a0 With the Find tool you can search a document for a keyword or phrase without having to re-read the entire piece.\u00a0 Again–major time saver!\u00a0 This function is accessible for websites, documents, Excel, PDFs, and various other platforms.<\/li>\n
    11. Alt+Tab = Switching between alternate windows.\u00a0 Have two different programs or browser windows open?\u00a0 Switch between the two flawlessly by\u00a0pressing the\u00a0Alt+Tab\u00a0keys.\u00a0 Once you do so, the alternate page will populate.<\/li>\n
    12. Ctrl+S = Save.\u00a0 To be clear, this is only Save, not Save As.\u00a0 So it is best to save your document first and rename it what you’d like.\u00a0 As you continue to make edits after you “Save As”, you can press the Ctrl+S key to save whatever changes you’ve made.<\/li>\n
    13. Ctrl+P = Print.<\/li>\n
    14. Ctrl+Enter = Page break.\u00a0 By pressing Ctrl+Enter, you can enter a page break where ever you’d like in your document.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
