&#8211; An Automotive Security Solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Is there a need for an automotive security solution?\u00a0 It may seem far fetched, that a hacker would attempt to exploit your automobile&#8217;s vulnerabilities.\u00a0 Some may even question if it is possible.\u00a0 To be clear, it is.\u00a0 In 2016, we wrote about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/2016\/09\/21\/hacking-connected-devices-tesla-vulnerable-remote-hacks\/\">ability to remotely hack vehicles<\/a>, by exploiting their security vulnerabilities.\u00a0 In the video below, you can see the security team demonstrating the ability to remotely access the Tesla&#8217;s braking system, opening the sunroof, moving the seats, and turning on the windshield wipers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Car Hacking Research: Remote Attack Tesla Motors  by Keen Security Lab\" picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The security industry has been aware of these issues for quite some time.\u00a0 However, it takes time and money to create a security solution that will patch these security gaps.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/uptane.github.io\/\">Uptane <\/a>is claiming to be that solution.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/uptane.github.io\/\">Uptane <\/a>is a software update framework for vehicles, which\u00a0mitigates the risk of\u00a0security attacks by addressing the vehicle&#8217;s specific vulnerabilities and limitations.<\/p>\n<p>We sincerely hope this solution is as effective as it claims, as it is only a matter of time before hackers begin to exploit our automobiles&#8217;s security
