Louis City Public Library No Longer Offering Free PC Use"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Update 1\/27\/2017: After two days, the St. Louis City Public Library technical staff was able to fix the impacted computers.\u00a0 The system hard drives were wiped completely and restored with available back-ups.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The St. Louis City Public Library is currently unable to offer free computer use to the community due to a ransomware attack that took down 700 computers in 16 different locations.\u00a0 Library officials reported no data was lost in the attack.\u00a0 The impact however, leaves the community unable to use the free computer services offered at the library.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kmov.com\/story\/34298858\/st-louis-city-public-library-victim-of-ransomware-attack\">KMOV News<\/a>, the library&#8217;s technical staff is working to restore the computers.\u00a0 They are also working with the FBI and law enforcement officials to determine the source of the attack.\u00a0 The current ransom demand made by the cyber criminals is $35,000.<\/p>\n<p>To see a full
