Cyber criminals have hit a new low, proving they don’t care who their victims are as long as it may lead to a large payout.\u00a0 According to Network World<\/a>, hackers breached Indiana Cancer Services’ systems on January 10, 2017.\u00a0 They then encrypted a server, followed by a ransom demand of $43,000 to restore this server.<\/p>\n

Indiana Cancer Services reported\u00a0no intention to pay the ransom demand, and is working with the FBI to try and determine the source of the attack.\u00a0 Fortunately, most of their information is kept on a cloud-based storage, which was not impacted during the ransomware attack.<\/p>\n
