The ransomware epidemic has taken the world by storm.\u00a0 It has impacted everyone from large enterprises to home users.\u00a0 The small and medium businesses (SMBs) have seen a drastic uptake in ransomware attacks in 2016.\u00a0 This year alone,\u00a0The Inquirer<\/a> reported\u00a0the number of ransomware attacks hitting the SMB market has increased 800%.\u00a0 Ransomware distributers have found by targeting the SMB market, their successful payout rate is higher.\u00a0 Meaning, although they may not be extorting large amounts of money from each attack, more victims are paying to restore their files.\u00a0 But why?\u00a0 Because typically, SMBs don’t have the extent of safeguards large businesses do.\u00a0 They also tend to lack adequate backup files, leaving no choice but to pay.\u00a0 This doesn’t have to be the case.<\/p>\n

Protecting the SMBs<\/h4>\n
