Taking a screenshot is creating a copy of your PC’s screen.  This tool can be quite helpful on a daily basis, whether it’s with technical help or just sharing your view with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow this step-by-step guide to taking a screenshot with the Windows operating system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to the screen that you’d like to take\u00a0 screenshot of.<\/li>
  2. Click the Print Screen (Prt Sc) key on your keyboard to copy the screen.\u00a0 If you want\u00a0to copy only the\u00a0active window on your screen, click Alt and Print Screen at the same time (Alt+Prt Sc)<\/li>
  3. A screen image is captured.<\/li>
  4. \"printscreen-key\"<\/li>
  5. Next, go to where you’d like to paste the image.\u00a0 This may be a Word document, email, etc.<\/li>
  6. Right click and choose “Paste” or you can hit Ctrl+V to paste the image.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Security Restrictions May Block Screen Shots<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Sometimes you may see a message, \u201cCan\u2019t Take Screenshot Due to Security Policy\u201d when you try to take a screenshot. This is most likely due to your system’s security settings or a browser issue preventing the use of Print Screen key. A perfect example of this is when trying to capture a screenshot while browsing in Incognito Mode with either Google Chrome or Firefox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition, some apps intentionally disable the screenshot capture feature for privacy reasons. Keep in mind, the purpose of Incognito browsing is to keep your browsing sessions private – so naturally Chrome and Firefox disable the screenshot feature to keep your sessions private.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
