In August, the Yuba-Sutter Medical Center was hit with ransomware<\/a>, shutting down computers for days.\u00a0 A month later, ransomware took down Yuba\u00a0City’s computers <\/a>for 14 hours.\u00a0 Officials reported four of the 35o city computers were infected with ransomware.\u00a0 Luckily, since they were able to identify the infection quickly, Yuba City employees were able to isolate the incident.<\/p>\n Using the city’s backup files, they were able to get operations back to normal within 24 hours.\u00a0 However, during the recovery time, employees throughout every City department, were unable to access any shared files.<\/p>\n To see a full list of ransomware attacks that have taken place, you can click here<\/a>.\u00a0 We have also created a ransomware map, see below, of the ransomware attacks that have taken place in the U.S. this year.
