Fails Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just last month Symantec, makers of Norton Anti-Virus experienced serious security holes, and it appears to have happened again&#8230;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Symantec is struggling to keep their software up to date and free of security vulnerabilities.\u00a0 Just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/2016\/05\/17\/major-security-hole-norton-anti-virus\/\">last month<\/a> the company was ousted by security researcher, Travis Ormandy,\u00a0who reported their security holes left hackers open to send emails to their users that could effectively infect their computers.\u00a0 The users would not even need to open the email, simply receiving it would be enough access to wreak havoc.\u00a0 This issues appears to remain, along with\u00a0additional issues.<\/p>\n<p>Ormandy\u00a0found that some Windows platforms had vulnerabilities coded\u00a0within the kernel themselves.\u00a0\u00a0This means, with this vulnerability, the hackers could\u00a0conduct remote kernel memory corruption, again without any interaction from the user.<\/p>\n<p>The problems are within the automatic configuration of the software.\u00a0 This impacts\u00a0their\u00a0entire product\u00a0lines including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Norton Security, Norton 360 and other legacy Norton products (All platforms)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Symantec Endpoint Protection (All versions on all platforms)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Symantec Email Security (All platforms)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Symantec Protection Engine (All platforms)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Symantec Protection for SharePoint Servers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ormandy reported that some of these programs cannot be
