The Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky is recovering from the Locky crypto-ransomware attack<\/a>. This, after a staff member opened an attachment to a spam e-mail<\/a>.<\/p>\n After locking the organization’s files, the ransom demands were 4 bitcoins (approximately $1,600) to recover all data that was breached.<\/p>\n Fortunately, the hospital reports regaining control of the company systems and files without paying the ransom<\/a>, and continue to operate from their back-up files.<\/p>\n Many institutions aren’t as lucky to recover after a ransomware infection hit on their hospital.
