Business<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The FTC has had the right, for years, to sue companies who do not take proper measures to ensure their customer&#8217;s information is safe.\u00a0 With the increased risk of security breaches through cybersecurity attacks, the likelihood of businesses utilizing the services of\u00a0cybersecurity firms to make sure their data is safe and secure has increased.\u00a0 Unfortunately, this provides a scapegoat for the company.\u00a0 If for any reason their customers&#8217;\u00a0information is\u00a0hacked, they then point the finger to the cybersecurity firm.\u00a0 Realistically, yes, it is the firm&#8217;s responsibility to minimize the risk of exposure; however at what point is the\u00a0company still responsible?<\/p>\n<p>This is the exact argument that is currently taking place between the cybersecurity firm Trustwave, and Affinity Gaming who suffered a second breach after implementing Trustwave&#8217;s services.\u00a0 According to <a href=\"http:\/\/thestreet.com\/story\/13434605\/1\/this-lawsuit-could-change-everything-in-cybersecurity.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Street<\/a>, Affinity Gaming is suing the cybersecurity firm for 100k in damages and\u00a0Trustwave is disputing the lawsuit.\u00a0 As the litigation continues, it will be interesting to see who is deemed liable.<\/p>\n<p>We want to know&#8211;who do you think should be held responsible?<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/story\/13434605\/1\/this-lawsuit-could-change-everything-in-cybersecurity.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/story\/13434605\/1\/this-lawsuit-could-change-everything-in-cybersecurity.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cybersecurity Threats Increase Cybersecurity Firms&#8217;
