Observer<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>According to the Microsoft Support Twitter account, @MicrosoftHelps, the Windows 8.1 for Surface RT devices is back in the Windows Store.<\/p>\n<p>The update was pulled this past weekend due to an issue that impacted what was a \u201climited\u201d number of devices according to Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>I have reached out to Microsoft to see if I can get some more info on what exactly the issue was with the original update and I will provide that info in this post when I hear back from them.&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.windowsobserver.com\/2013\/10\/22\/windows-rt-8-1-update-is-back-in-the-windows-store\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.windowsobserver.com\/2013\/10\/22\/windows-rt-8-1-update-is-back-in-the-windows-store\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to a post in the Microsoft Surface Updating Software and Firmware forum at <a href=\"http:\/\/answers.microsoft.com\/en-us\/surface\/forum\/surfupdate?tab=QnA\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft Answers<\/a> the 8.1 update for Surface RT devices, which was just released this past Thursday, has been pulled from the Windows Store.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Microsoft Releases a Surface RT 8.0 Recovery Image which helps recover bricked Surface RT devices<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You have probably already heard about the issues with the Windows RT 8.1 update which was pulled early this past Saturday due to issues with a limited number of devices according to Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>Although Microsoft has still not posted anything official about fixes for this issue, nor have they returned the update to the Windows Store, it can be fixed.<\/p>\n<p>One way to fix the failed installation to Windows 8.1 RT is to recover it using a recovery USB drive with a previous version of Windows RT on it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.windowsobserver.com\/2013\/10\/21\/microsoft-releases-a-surface-rt-8-0-recovery-image-which-helps-recover-bricked-surface-rt-devices\/\" target=\"_blank\">Article Continued
