I connect to the internet through a wireless router.<\/p>\n<p>Every once in a while I seem to lose my connection to the internet even though no other devices on our network are having that problem. And, even more oddly, when I click on the internet icon in my system tray, it indicates that I AM connected to the internet. When I mouse over it, it says &#8220;internet access&#8221; and the router name.<\/p>\n<p>How can I begin to investigate this?<\/p>\n<p>Here are some pings I\u2019ve tried successfully, although both firefox and chrome said I wasn\u2019t connected:<\/p>\n<p>Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:<br \/>\nReply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64<br \/>\nReply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64<br \/>\nReply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64<br \/>\nReply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64<\/p>\n<p>Ping statistics for 192.168.1.1:<br \/>\nPackets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),<br \/>\nApproximate round trip times in milli-seconds:<br \/>\nMinimum = 2ms, Maximum = 2ms, Average = 2ms<\/p>\n<p>Bob<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I wrote back to Bob to welcome him to the wonderful world of wireless.
