In a sense, it\u2019s even enabled by default. It\u2019s just not obvious, since the Hibernate selection doesn\u2019t show as one of your Shutdown options on a desktop computer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/win7-hibernate-1s-300x94.jpg\" alt=\"win7-hibernate-1s\" width=\"300\" height=\"94\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-45455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/win7-hibernate-1s-300x94.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pcmatic.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/win7-hibernate-1s.jpg 421w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><BR CLEAR=LEFT><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s easy to change, though, if you really want to change it. You can make changes to the settings by going to Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options.<\/p>\n<p>Pick the Power option you use (such as Balanced (recommended)). Click on &#8220;Change plan settings.&#8221; Then, click on Change advanced power settings.<\/p>\n<p>Now, you see dialog box like the one below, except that the Sleep line is still collapsed and has a Plus Box beside it.
