And with the launch of Windows 8.1 out later this year, there\u2019s a little secret built into the task bar: disabling the tile start screen upon sign in!<\/p>\n<p>In the desktop view, you\u2019ll be able to right-click the taskbar and select the screen you prefer to start on. It includes signing in and viewing the desktop, viewing the app screen full of programs, and then traditional Windows 8 tile screen. If you select to show the desktop, the start button in its native place will still refer you to the tile screen when you click on it.
