But how do you decide if a \u201ctrusted source\u201d is to be trusted? What <em>should<\/em> you look for?<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Tell If you\u2019re Downloading from a Trusted Source \u2013 A Couple of Ways to Know<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Make sure that the Web site is legitimate and reputable.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Verify that an anti-virus program has checked the files on the download site. If you have any doubts, don&#8217;t download the file at all.<\/p>\n<p>If you download software from the Internet, be especially vigilant of free software, which often carries adware or other potentially unwanted content along with it.\u00a0Always read the privacy policies and end-user license agreements (EULAs) for software you install, regardless of the source.<\/p>\n<p>Be especially wary of:<\/p>\n<p>*Screensavers\n<\/p>\n<p>*Games<\/p>\n<p>*Browser add-ons<\/p>\n<p>*Peer-to-peer (P2P) clients &amp; torrent sites<\/p>\n<p>*Any downloads claiming to be \u201ccracked\u201d or free versions of expensive applications, such as Adobe\u00ae PhotoShop\u00ae or Microsoft\u00ae Office.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!<\/p>\n<p><a
