This post is the response from Windows Talk.<\/font><\/p>\n<h3>Best Free Zip Utility<\/h3>\n<p>By Windows Talk<\/p>\n<p>I have used a lot of \u2018zip\u2019 or file compression programs over the years, but the one I use these days is the free, open source <a href=\"http:\/\/pitisoft.com\/7-zip\" target=\"_blank\">7-Zip<\/a> program. True, Windows has its own built-in compression program, but sometimes you may want a little more control over your options, such as the amount of compression, as well as some other refinements.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a look at the \u2018Add to Archive\u2019 dialog box, which you can see when you right-click a file or folder and click 7Zip\u2026from the menu:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.windowstalk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/7zip_thumb1.jpg\" alt=\"7zipthumb\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here you can control the amount of compression, split the compressed file to fit over multiple media and even choose to encrypt the compressed file with a password. You cannot do any of this with Windows\u2019 Compressed Folders!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.windowstalk.org\/2009\/07\/best-free-zip-program\/\" target=\"_blank\">What other types of files can
