To my surprise there\u2019s a push to remove cursive writing from school curriculum and it\u2019s gaining momentum. I\u2019m shocked at the support from even older long time educators.<\/p>\n<p>It turns in New York State our English Language Arts curriculum only requires legible manuscript either print or cursive. I\u2019m don\u2019t have&#160; background in education but I do know what kids will need to know to be successful.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve never been a fan of the current D\u2019Nealian cursive or its predecessors.&#160; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.billp.com\/blog\/images\/15ef9109fb86_11308\/dnealian.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto\" title=\"dnealian\" border=\"0\" alt=\"dnealian\" src=\"http:\/\/www.billp.com\/blog\/images\/15ef9109fb86_11308\/dnealian_thumb.jpg\" width=\"364\" height=\"145\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Teaching me in 1st grade that a capital Q was written like a number two was the first time I started to question the intelligence of my teachers.
