What they failed to notice is how Facebook is encouraging users to disclose even more information to \u201cEveryone\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Facebook privacy news has also given credibility to the malicious phishing attempts that arrive in your Email with the subject \u201cFacebook Account Update\u201d. Some of my friends who would normally know better have fallen for these spam Emails thinking it\u2019s part of the newly announced privacy policies. <\/p>\n<p>Instead what Facebook users should see is the following pop up when they sign on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.billp.com\/blog\/images\/FacebookSimplifiesRemovingyourPrivacy_DB51\/newfacebook1.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto\" title=\"newfacebook1\" border=\"0\" alt=\"newfacebook1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.billp.com\/blog\/images\/FacebookSimplifiesRemovingyourPrivacy_DB51\/newfacebook1_thumb.jpg\" width=\"364\" height=\"178\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Like me your first reaction may be hurray! Facebook has listened to us and will be increasing our privacy.  Guess again.  When you click to continue you\u2019ll see a revamped version of their current privacy settings. Unless you\u2019re paying attention much of the information you only want \u201cFriends\u201d to see will now be available to \u201cEveryone\u201d.
