Cloud Data Still Needs Protection

It Starts With You

There are a variety of benefits to hosting your data in the cloud. Most people, however, tend to look at it as a set-and-forget situation. Data protection is still your responsibility.

While most cloud services offer some sort of protection, sticking to just that shouldn’t be your entire security plan. Classifying and organizing your data can be mainstreamed as well. Making sure that you have a handle on where your data is, and where it’s being used, is the first step in keeping yourself aware of how information is being accessed.

Once you have a handle on that, making sure each user is protected and monitored on your end will go a long way toward a more solid security plan. Effective protection takes an in-depth look at each piece along the way.

Application whitelisting is always our recommendation when it comes to data protection. Effective protection of each employee, and therefore each machine, is essential. As you look at your data plan, consider your weaknesses.

A Solid Security Plan

Building a solid security plan includes protection, monitoring, and maintenance. While a cloud solution can help streamline those processes, it shouldn’t be your only line of defense. Consider integrating a whitelisting solution into your protection plan.

Ultimately, data protection is up to you. Avoiding ransomware is everyone’s responsibility. That responsibility becomes more manageable once everyone is taking an active part in maintaining it.

Good luck, and stay safe out there.
