Ransomware Recovery Was Better Than Hoped For Crow Wing County

Crow Wing County, located in Brainerd, Minnesota, was hit with ransomware…

Brainerd Dispatch reported Crow Wing County in Minnesota was hit with ransomware earlier this month.  The County Administrator, Tim Houle, reported the recovery was far better than expected.

The ransomware variant that encrypted the county’s files is unknown; however luckily, the county had backed up the targeted files the day prior to the attack.  Using their backup files, they were able to get their systems back up and running without having to pay the ransom demand.
