Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, England denied information being breached after ransomware hit…
A spokesperson for Derriford Hospital reported all patient information remained secure after investigating a recent ransomware attack. It has been reported by SC Magazine UK that the attack was not targeted specifically for the hospital, but it was more of a large phishing scam to try and infect as many as possible.
The Freedom of Information request found out about the attack earlier this week. The hospital denied being approached with a ransom demand. The strain of ransomware used for the attack is also unknown at this time.
