Locky Strikes New Zealand Hospital

Ransomware strikes another hospital overseas…

New Zealand hospital, Whanganui District Health, was the victim of a ransomware attack on February 23, 2016.  According to Softpedia, the hospital board’s Information and Communications Technology Manager Barry Morris has confirmed the infection was by the Locky ransomware family.

It is unknown if the hospital paid the ransom to obtain their encrypted files.
