Titus Regional Medical Center Attacked

In January, the Titus Regional Medical Center, based in Mount Pleasant, Texas, reported that ransomware had encrypted files on their database servers…

The encryption locked the hospital’s data, which lead to the incident response firm to conduct an investigation to help regain access to the systems.  Unfortunately, the ransomware had affected the electronic database, making the hospital return to the old forms of business with a pen and paper.

According to Bank Info Security, the medical center couldn’t immediately be reached for comment about whether it has resolved the infection.
