8 Ways Microsoft is Smoothing the Road to Windows 8

The Microsoft Princess shares 8 ways Microsoft is attempting to smooth the bumpiness of Windows 8 – with Windows 8.1.– PC Pitstop

I was driving down the road this morning and hit a patch of grated road. If you ever been through a patch like this, it requires you to drive slower, it’s bumpy because the manholes are raised higher in comparison to the grated road. While it’s frustrating, it’s also temporary. And I hope that as we enter this newly paved road of the Windows 8.1 release, the thoughts of the slower speed and bumpiness will quickly feel like a faded memory.

That said, here are some top items to watch for in the coming release:

Availability: In the Windows Store. Includes both RT and Windows 8 devices. Windows Phone updates will be available early 2014.

Windows RT: Now includes Outlook. And it’s pretty much the same as the Outlook app on the desktop. I personally like it better than OWA!

App screen: Group programs with heading you will recognize. And a swipe up from the start screen displays them. You can also select this screen as a default start upon sign in.
